Holy Steak and Ball Busting Batman!

Wow, thanks to Grant and Boston limping behind the Yanks all season, I got free Peter Luger steak for the premiere Best Record Bet! I ate the shit out of some awesome steak! Dhimas and Peter came along and helped give Grant a hard time about how gay he is and all. This was the best Lugers dinner ever, making it tighter in the overall ranking in my opinion. Which is pretty much what matters when its time for my review. I give Lugers an upgrade. See below. Can't wait for more free steak from Grant next year. Maybe we won't wait and I'll come up with some other way for Grant to break the bank providing stellar aged prime porterhouse gratis whilst balancing my hefty Yanky winning nads on his forehead and chin! Peace out!

That's 2 for 2 in most wins per season. Wanna go for 3 for Granty Panty???

Bobby Vans and Grant Paying Through the Chode!

Special thanks to Grant for being a good sport (again) after losing another steak (again) because Boston played like the cast of Driving Miss Daisey this year. Grant bought me a sweet tittys steak dinner at Bobby Vans in NYC! Nice atmosphere, old school wood interior and cold beers. Our steak of choice was the mighty porterhouse! We also went for creamed spinach and had hash brown potatoes served all crispy in an iron skillet. Awesome fresh baked bread started us off and I have to say, the dinner was sweet. Nice cut of meat, perfectly cooked. Overall great experience! Can't wait for the Luger dinner coming up in which Grant must pay through the chode (once again) on a super expensive, delicious monstrosity of a meal. Yankees won me more free steak by getting furthest in the playoffs! Wheeeew! Boston can suck my nutz and Grant can put more Lugers steak on his chode credit card!. Except he can't because they only take cash!

PS. I love that my predictions from the beginning AND middle of the season came true as fuckity fuck!

"Although Drew got lucky and Grant won on the Grand Slam bet I'm looking forward to winning the next three bets- Best All Star Break record, First pitcher with 15 wins and Best Post Season Record. Go Yankees!"

Del Friscos Review

Special thanks to Grant for being a good sport about Boston being all banged up and not coming close to best record at all star break bet. And for buying me a sick steak dinner at Del Friscos NYC! Nice atmosphere, vaulted 2 story windows, old school dark wood interior and cold beers. Our steak of choice was individual porterhouses! Shit Balz! 24 ounces apiece. We also went for creamed bacon-assed spinach and scalloped potatoes. Awesome fresh baked bread started us off and I have to say, the dinner was sweet. Nice cut of meat, perfectly cooked. We both agreed they were a little heavy on seasoning, not needed with steak this awesome. Overall great experience! Can't wait for Yankees to win me more free steak when we get 15 pitcher wins first!

New York Yankees Have Most Awesome Team at All-Star Break and Grant Eats Chode!

AL East

Thanks to the Yankees having the best record in the majors at the break with a 56-32 record and a .636 winning percentage, Grant will now open up his moldy wallet and purchase cold beers, prime steak, sides and dessert for his Master of All Media, Tom Kettells

Del Friscos this Thursday will be awesome because free steak is awesome and its even more awesome that Grant has to pay for it! Also, a huge, "Porterhouse For Two" level of thanks to the Bosux for overworking their frail, wussy bodies and basically falling apart right on cue...as always!

P.S. Hey Grant, Sabathia's 15th win is approaching! So is my next free steak @ Yankees Steak, located in the beautiful new Yankees Stadium, 161 Street and River Ave Bronx, NY 10451!

BLT Steak Review

After JD Drew's awesome Grand Slam, Tom so graciously paid for a juicy steak dinner at another one of NYC's fine establishments. We decided on BLT Steak (http://www.bltsteak.com/).

As you walk into BLT Steak, you are greeted by a small bar area where you can quench your thirst on a nice cold beer. It's tastes especially cold when it's paid for by a Yankee fan. This place did have it's fair share of "Wall Street" looking douche bags and Upper East Side snobs so that brought the atmosphere down a notch for me. The dining area is larger than I expected and not too close to other tables..definitely not the worst in NYC. Right off the bat however, our waiter seemed to forget about us for 15-20 minutes. We had to flag him down to give him our order.

We ordered our usual: Starting out with some nice thick cut bacon, Porterhouse for 2, hash browns, and creamed spinach. It's a solid bench mark to compare the same orders for each restaurant we go to. The food was top notch. A very well cooked cut of meat is our first priority, and they delivered. My only gripe was that there was a bit more fatty, gristly pieces than at Luger's or Strip House. They have a pretty good assortment of sauces as well, not that this steak needed it. We tried the Blue Cheese, BBQ, and the house steak sauce. All very different and all good. The spinach and hash browns were what you'd expect them to be, but nothing extraordinary.

For dessert I ordered the house carrot cake and Tom ordered some sort of Chocolate Tart I believe. I love me some cake, and this has to be the best carrot cake that I've ever had. It was very decadent but not too rich, caramel drizzled all over it, and just the right size.

Overall, a top steak joint. Just a tad below Strip House, Luger's, and Wolfgang's.

JD Drew Grand Slam

And another free steak dinner for Grant. How much does that sting, Tom? Red Sox off to a slow start, but picking up speed!

Churrascaria Plataforma

We all know that pre-season doesn't mean anything. Except when you have a free steak night on the line.

The Red Sox managed to have a better record in the Grapefruit league than the sad clowns known as the Yankees. So, Tom K was gracious enough to buy me a steak dinner. This time we decided to go to Churrascaria Plataforma, an all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse.

Tom tried explaining to me how it worked, and it went something like: "You have a little disc, one side is green and one side is red. Flip it over to green and they will keep bringing you multiple kinds/styles of meat. Flip it to red if you want them stop." That pretty much nailed it on the head.

It was relatively in-expensive, considering it's all you can eat. There is a flat rate for the salad and appetizer bar with the endless meat. Around $60 bucks per person and the drinks and deserts are separate. I wish I could say I had a bad cut of something there, but it was all really great. There is a HUGE variety, and all prepared perfectly. If you are a meat lover, this is for you. The salad bar was a nice touch and they also had some hot sides as well. The sun-dried tomato risotto was really good. I have to mention the service here as well. It was phenomenal. There was always someone there asking if we wanted some cut of meat, asking how we are doing, refilling our drinks but not to the point where it's annoying. They balance leaving you alone and keeping you completely pampered very well. Desert was nothing to write home about, I had the cheesecake and Tom had the triple chocolate type cake.

All-in-all a great night out paid for by Tom K and the Yankees sucking.

And a new season of bets is upon us!

Welcome back everyone to the Yanks Suck, Go Sox blog! Kidding kidding, I'm sure there is a really good reason why the Yankees are so terrible...Chan Ho Park, take it away:

Tom was nice enough to bet me a night out with steak on who would have the better pre-season record....although the grapefruit league means nothing, the Sox once again came out on top. Will update you when Tom decides to nut up and pay for my steak dinner.

Season Finale

So Tuesday night Grant was kind enough to pay the premier bet of the season! An awesome Peter Luger dinner for the 2009 American League Champions and 27th time World Champions, New York Yankees! Dinner was great as usual but it felt like we've been cheating on our main lady by sampling so many other steak houses during Grant's painful season of loses to me. Someone had to do it though.

Our rankings still hold with Strip House and Wolfgang's edging out Lugers slightly but we'll always have a special place in our heart for the steak that made me cream my spinach first, the Mighty Peter Lugers!

Thanks Grant, we'll figure out the bets and potential steak house to check out. If anyone has any suggestions for places we passed over in our first season of bets let us know. Some possible ones are BLT Steak, Porter House, Uncle Jacks, Quality Meats, Sparks, Del Friscos, Dylan Prime.??

Maybe even Charrascarria Plataforma. one of those Brazilian heart attack places that serves unlimited amounts of every meat known to man at once plus a salad bar! Good luck in 2010 Grant!
