CC Wins Tom K Steak Again!

Thanks to CC's brilliant (almost) perfect game, Grant will be buying some AWESOME steak for Tom K once again for the first pitcher to get to 15 wins bet! After Lester stalled at 10 and licked his wounds, CC stepped up some porterhouse for Tom again! Best record for the whole season is our last bet (One that I've won the past two years straight) Lugers will welcome me home but first I owe Grant some tender vittles for the best record at All Star break bet that the Sux and he won fair and square.

Oh I wish Yanks won them all, cause free steak is better than not free steak, which is still better than no steak! Thanks Granty Panty Mo Mar Nostra McBall Chin!

Ben and Jack's Steakhouse Review

Thanks to All-Star Adrian Gonzalez's RBIs, Tom K graciously paid for a steak dinner. The venue was Ben and Jack's on East 44th Street.

This is another example of a former Peter Luger's employee going out on their own. These Luger's clones all seem to do the same thing...offer the staples we've come to love and then add a few things to set them apart from the others.

We started with the thick slices of bacon as an appetizer. Can't really go wrong there.

For the main course we had the Porterhouse for two, creamed spinach, and german potatoes. The meal was very good and on par with Lugers, I would say. The steak came out sizzling and hot, creamed spinach had just the right amount of cream (not much at all), and the potatoes were solid. The thing that set Ben and Jack's apart was their house steak sauce. It was very different than what we've had before but it complimented the steak and sides very well.

At the end of the day, it is what it is: A Peter Luger's clone. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Great meal at a reasonable price...and a much easier to get to location.

GO SOX!
