Thanks to Ortiz and his masterful hitting, Tom K is shelling out for a steak dinner at Morton's!
For a Friday night, Morton's was kind of dead. With no one sitting next to us, I could practically scream how much the Yanks suck.
We started with crab cakes as an appetizer. They were solid. We both wished they had the thick cut bacon, but it'll do. The bread is also worth mentioning, came out piping hot and yummy.
For dinner we had the thickest porterhouse we've had thus far. It was 4-5 inches tall. We ordered it medium rare, plus. For being as thick as it was, it was cooked absolutely perfectly. They have magicians in the kitchen over there. It had been a while since we got to eat steak, so this hit the spot. They offered various sauces, but it would have been a bad idea to ruin that perfect steak by putting anything on it. We had the staples, creamed spinach and hash brown potatoes. Nothing to write home about, the spinach was a bit bland. We ended with the signature chocolate lava cake. I kept saying it wasn't made on site, that it was frozen, but Tom disagreed. Either way it was a good ass cake.
It is worth noting it took a while for us to get dinner, as slow as it was. I'd say we were sitting for an hour before we actually got to eat. Not the end of the world. Our server was awesome and on top of everything...and even joked around a bit. All-in-all it was great to taste such a magnificent steak after so long. And even better when it's free!

Ortiz hits 60 RBIs first! Wins Grant free steak!
Ortiz came through, as one of the best clutch hitters of all time. The only good player on the Yankees, Cano, was oh-so-close to winning, but fell short! Go Sox!

2012 Season Finale Bet Winner - Tom K!
Grady swung by to enjoy the best Lugers night to date! Everything rocked - from the warm bread to sweet onions and delicious tomatoes to the requisite bacon app, spinach and potato sides to the beast of a three person Porterhouse. Also, many many cold beers!
We liberally applied Luger's sauce to our whole meal, to ourselves and to our nearby diners. Also all over the taxi and the driver and several pedestrians in old town Brooklyn. It was tits (cause tits are a good thing!)
Thanks Red Sux for failing miserably last season and to Grant for buying me free awesome steak...AGAIN!
Until next time motha -FUCKAS!
