Hughes wins free steak from Mark Joseph for Tom K and Grant pays for it....again!

We enjoyed yet another Peter Lugers clone (in the south street seaport area this time). A co-owner apparently worked at the Long Island Luger location. Decor was decent and perhaps because we were there on a Sat, the Wall Street Maggots (who deliberately created huge housing bubbles and toxic debt, recklessly sold them off as derivatives and crashed our economy and then made trillions off the rest of us shorting it on the way down as well) thankfully were not out in meaningful numbers.

But I digress. Mark Joseph steakhouse is a solid dining experience. We had a sharp waiter who gave great service and skillfully brought out our traditional order of bacon apps, porterhouse for 2 medium rare, creamed spinach and hash browns. We both thought the porterhouse was a bit smaller than other places but it was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. Sauce and sides were swell as was a special apple tort with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream.

We were fully stuffed by the end and felt like many steakhouses have now achieved a sort of excellent equilibrium on this formula.  It's a little out of the way for public transportation but somewhat close to the South Street Seaport downtown area. Great night! Thanks Grant for humbly forking over fat bucks for a sweet dinner and the Red Sux for their sheer ineptness this season!

Next up end of the Season Steak Win for Tom K bringing the total wins to 3 out of 4! I love free steak and baseball!

Go Yanks 2013!
